Here we created Zinc Roofing for a large kitchen extension. The client sent us the original architects drawings and we could immediately see that it had been designed with an elaborately hipped flat roof and a parapet box gutter on all four sides.
In this particular case the roof would not be seen from above by the client so an elaborate design would have made no difference to them. When we contact the client we advised that of course we could quote for the work as per the architects drawings, but we could simultaneously provide and quote for a solution which would not only provide a reduction in cost, but also mean that the roof would operate more effectively.
The client came back to us and advised they would like to accept our design solution and the cost savings it could provide for this zinc roofing project.
The client chose their zinc roofing to be completed in natural zinc, comprising zinc parapet box gutter, zinc flat roof and zinc parapet capping. As part of our design we also provided zinc cladding to the adjoining wall of the tiled roof.
This zinc roof was created on a warm roof build up supplied by the builder and, as we always do, we worked with them to ensure that the correct metal roofing codes of practice were observed.
